Peter's Seriously Tasty Chicken Tika Slice - Ready to Go

Well, its another review and chicken slices are a favourite of mine. So when I saw a new one which is made by a familiar firm, I decided to try it for lunch. Enjoy the rushed review:

The Slice

Its a nice bold design with black, white and purple to represent the bold and colour of india as usual. But hey its good and it can make it easier to spot in shelves and fridges.

The front of the slice

The back of the slice

Now as a slice, it looks as normal as it can be, its not too light but yet it's not burnt to a crisp either, but it wasn't in any cardboard slice which is a unique different compared with other slices but Peters have done this on the heinz slices before which is probably cutting down on the plastics that is the reason, but it is one nice cold slice to look at

The slice itself

Lets Taste and Conclusion

Its got a nice flavour as i took a bite out of it, the chicken is chunky and the sauce is light and very much like the homepride sauce, but it does show the tastiness of it without the hassle of being too ful and having to COOK it to eat it, it also wasn't leaking out of the side like some slices do. But it was so good, especially with an apple juice after. But its one of those meals i do like.

All in all, this is something somewhat worth it for a quick meal, but its something better.

omracer's Rating: 8/10

The Good:

  • Reasonable Value
  • Nice tasty chicken
  • Nice sauce,
  • Not leaking out of the pastry
  • in shops that are not supermarkets
  • Not much waste from it
  • Not too filling

The Bad:

  • The appearance inside might put some people off
  • Some people think this is cheap food and won't touch it yet they feel skint when they are hungry
That's about it, 2 reviews done in a week, that's not bad going at all to be fair. More reviews might come soon.

Chef Select Chicken Nuggets and Dips

Its been a bit sparse for Reviews. Which I have had in my mind but with videos being planned and also games to finish, it has been put off. But when shopping recently, I found a idea for a new review. Which here goes. A review of chicken nuggets for £1.69.

The Box.

It felt like a Mcdonalds box, with the purple backgrounds and golden font and big letters, it made me instantly think of what i saw a Mcds box (from videos since i've not been in there for a long time). But it felt like the real deal.

The front of the box

The side of the box

anoither side of the box with the expiry date and bar codes

another side to the box

the back of the box

The inside of the box

Then we open the box to find the small Mcdonalds looking dips with odd translations and also the bag of nuggets. Its interesting the German name was used on the sweet n sour one.

Cooking the nuggets

The time to cook them is actually under 15 minutes which is nice. Making sure the pan was on a high heat with oil and then it was ready to serve, I did get the pan hot enough before starting this too. The dips were heated up by hot water.

cooking #throughglass

The tasting,

So we now get to the part where we taste them, now the nuggets were quite nice, basic tasting with the nice nuggets when hand fried. The dips were enticing, now the sweet and sour was actually different looking but a odd tangy taste to it. The curry dip was a nice taste, it felt like curry sauce but with a overdose of curry powder. But it was nice to dip into it. The peanut butter was amazing to have it dipped into though, thats all i'm going to say about it.

Conlcusion

This was a nice snack, the dips could have improvement but thats about it.

omracer's Rating: 7/10

The Good Points:

  • This is good value
  • Easy to cook
  • Nice amount of nuggets for normal eaters
  • 2 dips

The Bad Points:

  • The dips could taste better
  • The dips can fit a nugget just about

Well thats the reviews for this month, now we take to the next month near christmas, controller reviews and other things.

Heinz Barbecue Chilli Sauce

This one was one of the sauce I picked up from Poundland when on the Hot Spending vlog a few days ago. Costing only £1 and a favour of mine likes BBQ Sauce, so why not try it.
The video is below:

The bottle.

The bottle is a simple one, the sauce fully squeezed in that container, the labels is very posh and nostalgic and the name is clearly shown. The back has a major amount of small text which has to happen due to food standards agency ideas and also people do calorie count. But the lid is nice with the Heinz 50 varieties branding engraved on it.

The front of the bottle

The back of the bottle with the info and details

The Sauce.

Now once the lid is unscrewed, the seal needs to come off which can be easily done and well that is a teeth affair, then its sauce away with the actually not too thick liquid which means the sauce can overflow quickly if you don't control the squeeze in the nozzle. But the sauce is showing some chilli extract on it which gives the idea of the kick is a bit stronger than usual BBQ.

The opened bottle

How the sauce looks on a finger

The tasting:

1: from finger

This is pretty much sucking that finger and the sauce did leave a amazing taste and the KICK shortly came in after which is exactly what is supposed to happen but its not as strong as Ghost Pepper luckily.

2: In a Sandwich.

BBQ Sauce sandwiches are common and for me its no exception. So I made a nice chicken salad mino roll sandwich for the BBQ Sauce to be squirted in and boy did it make the flavour much more oomph. With the kick there but not painful, the salad to cool it down, the chocolate for the taste and i was impressed.

Preparing the Sandwich

Squirting it in

The Finished Result

Conclusion.

This sauce is a nice spicy kick on a classic and i was not regretting buying this at all.

omracer's Rating: 9/10

The Good Points:

  • Only £1.00
  • That BBQ taste is there
  • Nice firey kick but not too much of a kick
  • A nice amount in there

The Bad Points:

  • Can be sticky.
  • Can be hard to open seal up without teeth

I'll be getting a drink review done soon and more maybe later on.

Morrison's Great British Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie

A difference in review, we review a PIE, No seriously, we do. This was a Chicken Pie from Morrison's when my mum was on a shopping trip a few weeks ago. Its something that was just on the top of my head when doing a home visit hours before. Costing £2, this was well worth it, or was it.
The video is below for people that want to see a easier review.

The Patriotic Packaging

This was actually a really British feel to it, with the union jack and the coronation fonts, it makes it seem like a classic British meal or even comfort food. The sides all have the same design on which is a surprise compared to most products I've reviewed in the past. There is High in Fat and Saturates, which for people is a no no, but for feabie members there is a yes to those in the 😍 consequences. Also there is wet signs due to this being defrosted. This is also nice to help that brexit spirit

Add caption

This is the side of the box

The massive amount of details on the back
Then we look at the Pie, which is a nice standard and large roundness which is what comfort food like this should be shaped like. The foil is not as stiff around it, so don't expect it to stay in upside down, but it does stay in when slightly thrown up in the air.

The Pie

See how loose it is in the Case of tin foil

Time To Cook

This is the part, now the instructions are pretty accurate as far as from my experience is concerned, since if chilled, its a 35 minute cooking in the own at 180C. Which I originally did at 200 but lowered it to be more precise with the instructions. I put it on a tray (which i used to cook a 40 piece of chicken a few days before). It fitted which was nice, then in on the top shelf and set for 39 minutes to go.
In the Oven

The timer starts
So, While waiting it to cook, I played Pacman 256 for a bit which is a good time passing. But soon it was coming up to 12 minutes, So i had a check on it, which it was starting to look crispy on the pastry and the heat inside was getting there.

The Pie was looking good

Cutting it and the meat was looking alright inside.
Soon, after extending it for another 20 minutes or so, it was finally ready after that.

The Dishing and tasting

Here we are, the Pie was ready, I cut into it and it looked hot and gooey with steam coming out of it along with the pastry nice and nearly fully black. So I cut it out, or managed to then dished it out, mmmmmmm.
The Pie is ready and it looks quite nice
Then it was time to get this eaten, which of course, adding sauces and things like Baked Beans to make it classic meal. There were extras but thats on twitter along with my other meals as ususal.

with the beans, funnily enough, it was morrisons branded baked beans

So, it was time to eat, and it was really nice, although it might of been cooler than it looked when I ate it, but the flavour was really there, with a melt in the mouth without cheese and also the mixture of the chicken and ham is nice too. Adding my usual extras made it nice and varied the flavour but on its own, its a nice texture that you don't have to force yourself to eat. With this in mind

omracer's Rating: 7/10

The Good Points:

  • Nice size
  • Good Value
  • Patriotic or brexit design
  • Easy to get the pie out of the box
  • Loose Tin
  • Nice flavour

The Bad Points:

  • Can be tricky to cook if your not sure on times
  • Can be fattening if your not a feedist
  • Getting the slices cut up and put on the plate can be tricky without making it fall on the floor

More Reviews coming in the next week, maybe more mini food ideas.
