Silvercrest Waffle Maker

Well, this one actually comes a bit later than planned, things have been in the way such as emotions, work and time to film get sometimes harder but today we review a Waffle maker bought from Lidl for £14.99 which actually is easier than I expected it to be.

the video is below

The Packaging

Well, for starts the box is a big one but it does have a simple layout but at the same time, shows off repeated images of the same features which can be irritating for some but it does make the point clear of what it can do. Wit the 3 moulds included and also how powerful it can be with the 750W Heater, it well shows it all, even with the exact colour of the waffle maker itself. The barcodes placed on different sides of the box to make it easier for scanning but all in all there is an attractive appeal about the box.

But as we enter the box, it's nicely organised for the things stacked in the right places and the protection in place which the contents are

  • 1 x waffle maker blue
  • 2 x small doughnut trays
  • 2 x Belgian Waffle Trays
  • 2 x mixed shape waffle trays (in the waffle maker)
  • 1  x manual
The trays were nicely protected with cardboard and the maker itself in its eggshell container and the wrapping around it, which means there was care to put into the product.

As we looked inside, the blue colour is very cute for some kitchens but for ours, it can stand out but it doesn't really matter for me.

But the manual was actually nicely detailed and also had recipes inside it which is cool so I know how to make doughnuts and waffles

But now it was to finally get it to work

Get your mini Yorkshire doughnuts.

Well it was time to make it, So for this, I  ignored those recipes and just did this

  • a jug of 280ml water
  • Co -op batter mix
  • Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Egg
Then I mixed it together and it was time to heat up the maker

Making sure to put the locks in place for the trays, spray with oil or the light spray then you turn the heater on then I made the mix and soon it was time to pour it in.

The mixing and thew heating
It was actually alot smaller for the doughnuts in place and could easily get filled up but well I got full and put the lid down then it was a 7-minute wait for that. Well a bit longer but halfway through it was looking nice

Then a few minutes later it was time to get it to work and open the lid to get the results which actually look amazing.

This was actually a nice taste to them, like sweet Yorkshire puddings actually.

But then it was time to get the next bit of waffles.

I'm Making bacon Waffles

Then it was the same thing again but to get the waffles templated used. I did add something to the mix

  • 1 extra egg
  • a bit of sugar
Then I put it into the waffle tray after I swapped the tray over with kitchen town to stop myself from getting stuck to the tray. Googled another 7 mi9nute timers and added some bacon on one of it, this was the results

the end result

then end result with bacon

Now how it tastes was very similar again to a Yorkshire pudding but the bacon did a nice flavour.

The Conclusion

All in all, there is potential in this and can make some nice idea,s I will probably use different mixes like Cookie and Brownie mixes one day but for now, this is the example with normal batter mix. The look is nice and the manual is clear and the trays are easy to swap.

omracer's Rating: 8/10

The Good points:

  • Good value for the price
  • Easy to swap trays over
  • Manual tells how to make good waffles
  • Easy to clean as well

The Bad Points:

  • The slots for the trays can be hard to choose which slot is which
  • The doughnut sizes could be bigger even if lest doughnuts per time
  • The blue might not suit all kitchens if colour is your fancy

More reviews will appear soon but other things have to be addressed before so see you then
