Silvercrest Waffle Maker

Well, this one actually comes a bit later than planned, things have been in the way such as emotions, work and time to film get sometimes harder but today we review a Waffle maker bought from Lidl for £14.99 which actually is easier than I expected it to be.

the video is below

The Packaging

Well, for starts the box is a big one but it does have a simple layout but at the same time, shows off repeated images of the same features which can be irritating for some but it does make the point clear of what it can do. Wit the 3 moulds included and also how powerful it can be with the 750W Heater, it well shows it all, even with the exact colour of the waffle maker itself. The barcodes placed on different sides of the box to make it easier for scanning but all in all there is an attractive appeal about the box.

The bottom of the box

But as we enter the box, it's nicely organised for the things stacked in the right places and the protection in place which the contents are

  • 1 x waffle maker blue
  • 2 x small doughnut trays
  • 2 x Belgian Waffle Trays
  • 2 x mixed shape waffle trays (in the waffle maker)
  • 1  x manual
The trays were nicely protected with cardboard and the maker itself in its eggshell container and the wrapping around it, which means there was care to put into the product.

As we looked inside, the blue colour is very cute for some kitchens but for ours, it can stand out but it doesn't really matter for me.

But the manual was actually nicely detailed and also had recipes inside it which is cool so I know how to make doughnuts and waffles

The front page of the manual

Shows more than just info

More how on safety

But now it was to finally get it to work

Get your mini Yorkshire doughnuts.

Well it was time to make it, So for this, I  ignored those recipes and just did this

  • a jug of 280ml water
  • Co -op batter mix
  • Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Egg
Then I mixed it together and it was time to heat up the maker

Making sure to put the locks in place for the trays, spray with oil or the light spray then you turn the heater on then I made the mix and soon it was time to pour it in.

The mixing and thew heating
It was actually alot smaller for the doughnuts in place and could easily get filled up but well I got full and put the lid down then it was a 7-minute wait for that. Well a bit longer but halfway through it was looking nice

The doughnuts in the maker
Then a few minutes later it was time to get it to work and open the lid to get the results which actually look amazing.

The end rersult in the tray

the end result on the plate

This was actually a nice taste to them, like sweet Yorkshire puddings actually.

But then it was time to get the next bit of waffles.

I'm Making bacon Waffles

Then it was the same thing again but to get the waffles templated used. I did add something to the mix

  • 1 extra egg
  • a bit of sugar
Then I put it into the waffle tray after I swapped the tray over with kitchen town to stop myself from getting stuck to the tray. Googled another 7 mi9nute timers and added some bacon on one of it, this was the results

the lights on the maker

the end result

then end result with bacon

Now how it tastes was very similar again to a Yorkshire pudding but the bacon did a nice flavour.

The Conclusion

All in all, there is potential in this and can make some nice idea,s I will probably use different mixes like Cookie and Brownie mixes one day but for now, this is the example with normal batter mix. The look is nice and the manual is clear and the trays are easy to swap.

omracer's Rating: 8/10

The Good points:

  • Good value for the price
  • Easy to swap trays over
  • Manual tells how to make good waffles
  • Easy to clean as well

The Bad Points:

  • The slots for the trays can be hard to choose which slot is which
  • The doughnut sizes could be bigger even if lest doughnuts per time
  • The blue might not suit all kitchens if colour is your fancy

More reviews will appear soon but other things have to be addressed before so see you then

Pizza Hut - White Caramel Cookie Dough

This was a nice but rushed review But enjoy caramel cookie dough. Well worth the £4.49 when i had to buy christea some last weekend and it was a good deal for £7.99 for the 2 of them.

The looking at it.

its got a good design, even if it looks a bit burned. But it was a thick design and the tub of ic cream was not bad but can cover the dough. The caramel you can see as well even though it looks like a berry or cherry.

The first pizza hut box i've ever had in my hand

The Heating and prep.

So when I was ready, I put the dough in the bowl and then heated it up for 3 minutes in the microwave. This was easy at first but it sadly it doesn't make it easier when it came out. The microwave was quite burnt indeed.

The burnt of the dough.

Then I had to pop the ice cream onto it this was a fun squeeze affair and it did sizzle when it was on there.

The ice cream the sizzle

The Tasting:

Well, this is the fun part, well it was nice to taste after I started and tried to stab it apart. It did work in its own way but it was quite jaw hurting. like I could feel my jaws ache as I was halfway through the dough, my mouth did feel a bit of a burning feeling to it. This all in all made it quite a nice dessert though left too long heated.

The Conclusion:

This was to be the first time of the food that I feed online and actually, I did enjoy even with a bit of delay of the eating and heating of it.

omracer's Rating: 7/10

The Good Points:

  • A reasonable blue (better at 2 for £7.99)
  • Nice flavour if eaten normally
  • recyclable packaging
  •  The ice cream is a nice touch

The Bad Points:

  • Don't reheat in a microwave
  • This can be rich for some people

Hopefully, more food reviews happen if I get a chance to have more time with lovely people.

But for now, time will be quiet.

Peter's Seriously Tasty Chicken Tika Slice - Ready to Go

Well, its another review and chicken slices are a favourite of mine. So when I saw a new one which is made by a familiar firm, I decided to try it for lunch. Enjoy the rushed review:

The Slice

Its a nice bold design with black, white and purple to represent the bold and colour of india as usual. But hey its good and it can make it easier to spot in shelves and fridges.

The front of the slice

The back of the slice

Now as a slice, it looks as normal as it can be, its not too light but yet it's not burnt to a crisp either, but it wasn't in any cardboard slice which is a unique different compared with other slices but Peters have done this on the heinz slices before which is probably cutting down on the plastics that is the reason, but it is one nice cold slice to look at

The slice itself

Lets Taste and Conclusion

Its got a nice flavour as i took a bite out of it, the chicken is chunky and the sauce is light and very much like the homepride sauce, but it does show the tastiness of it without the hassle of being too ful and having to COOK it to eat it, it also wasn't leaking out of the side like some slices do. But it was so good, especially with an apple juice after. But its one of those meals i do like.

All in all, this is something somewhat worth it for a quick meal, but its something better.

omracer's Rating: 8/10

The Good:

  • Reasonable Value
  • Nice tasty chicken
  • Nice sauce,
  • Not leaking out of the pastry
  • in shops that are not supermarkets
  • Not much waste from it
  • Not too filling

The Bad:

  • The appearance inside might put some people off
  • Some people think this is cheap food and won't touch it yet they feel skint when they are hungry
That's about it, 2 reviews done in a week, that's not bad going at all to be fair. More reviews might come soon.

hEAT ‘EM UP Doner Kebab with Spicy Chilli Sauce.

With a new bit of food to buy when I was shopping last week, I noticed this little gem of a meal. £1.00 for a Doner Kebab, then yes please. So I bought this and another meal but this one was more popular to review according to a Twitter Poll.

This was £1.00 in Tesco (not listed in link but company is) and I enjoyed it, you can see the video below:

The Packaging.

What caught my eye was the BOLD colours and big text and a picture of the kebab. The Price on the corner also helps to give attention to you. In all honesty though, green text on purple backgrounds is not the best to see but a few bits of it was, not all. The info was dense on the other side of the boxes but the main sides were clear and simple to read.

The front of the Box

Its the back of the box but it doesn't feel like

The side of the box with a same advert

The top of the box

Another side of the box with the ingredients and nutrition info

The bottom of the box with the barcode

How it looks:

Well, once its out of the box, it doesn't look as filled as the photo but there is something in there and the sachet of sauce is quite runny from the prediction. But some onions that were frozen were also loose as well. Its a nice size for the pita bread which gives some extra additions if you wanted it. The meat is a bit small amount and the onions were a nice fair size with what was not falling out of the packaging.

You can see how much onions are in there

The meat is not as much

The size of the bread

The sauce was a small size, it was not fully loaded but it wasn't a bag of air, so you do get a bit of it.

The sachet of spicy chilli sauce

How to cook it:

This was actually quite an easy 12 simple steps:
  1. Get a plate & Mug
  2. Boil a kettle with water in
  3. Unrwap the Kebab's packaging
  4. Put kebab on plate
  5.  Pour water into mug
  6. Put sachet in mug
  7. Put plate in for 3 minutes
  8. Wait until cooked
  9. Take plate out of Microwave
  10. Take sachet out of mug
  11.  Pour sachet onto kebab
  12. Fold up and enjoy

The Final result

How did it taste:

Well, that was actually a nice taste to it, okay its not that rich in its meat but the lamb you could taste and the onions were quite good and the sauce was nice but then after a few bites, it was going into that lip burning sensation, this was while it was dripping on the table. But for a meal its actually filling enough for some smaller appetites, for me maybe a bit small. But the bread allows for more to be crammed in which intense flavours like crisps, chicken, biscuits could be added in there.

With this in mind

omracer's Rating: 8/10

The Good Points:

  • Good Value
  • A good simple taste
  • Not that tiny bread
  • Bright packaging
  • Has a sauce with it

The Bad Points:

  • Not available in All Tesco Stores
  • The meat isn't that much
  • The sauce can be runny

That's all for a short while and I will be reviewing more and vlogging soon...
