Gamdias Hermes RGB GKB1050

This was a feeling in work to get something I actually wanted and well Mechindal Keyboards are a trend, from the clicking sounds on Torchy's Blackwidow, it made me want to find a good value mech with the MX blue and well, Gamdias I've heard of before so it was time to really explore and the Value on Christmas weekend was good, So I bought 2 for work, both struggled to sell and my time to try one was upon me. The value of this does change over time, but its a good value. Enjoy the Review.

The Packaging

The box is clear, professional and nicely laid out, the keyboard in full view on the front, the main features on the right-hand side, the sides have more features and the Gamdias logo, the back is full of the specs in different languages and even the tech specs and barcodes.

Then we have to use a sharp knife to get this opened, then in front of me was the keyboard in the opaque cover, which was then the way to lift it up and then the cardboard lifts up and the sticker, manual and key remover. But it was a heavy keyboard indeed.

The Keyboard was amazing, like heavy and also the cable was much longer than the Nemesis Kane Pro.  Which that keyboard was responsive but was getting dirty, broken and that sound and colour was boring now. But the cable tidy's were amazing as well. The guide had some notes on what keys to press for different functions as well which gives a good indication on what to do with the keyboard, the keys can be self-explanatory as well.

So it was then time to actually get it plugged i, which actually on my Steambox, was to get old Nemesis Kane out of the way. Which the Kane was actually a bigger keyboard and some bigger keys, it was also not the best on the effects for playing games and the LED were quite meh, but now the Hermes can change to all the colours I want it to. So it was connected up, at first it did disconnect when I pressed the FN + F11 end but reconnecting it and worked nice and proper.

But then it was time to install the HERA software (Windows only sadly), it was a quick way to really get into the vibe, sure it uses google drive to download but it was quick and easy to install, though you need admin privileges to appear on startup every time which can be a pain, maybe there's something with the Hermes pass server that we don't know about, but oh well. But the software shows you what the keyboard does nicely.

When typing the clicks actually make it accurate minus my clucking fat fingers and quite responsive too. Also it's ideal for rapid key pressing, like 3 million on Los Angeles shark from that which is pretty good.

Conclusion: 

Its a great keyboard and at the time, amazing value and almost even half price compared to the US pricing. Sure the keys might be smaller and a bit stiff to remove to swap but it makes thing easier and also the macro is handy for games to map the keys easier. 

The lighting makes it easier to get things done like from the cool effects to even getting the keys you need lit up. HERA is posh and unsure to the real reason it needs the internet minus FW updates but it's worth using,  maybe ideal for mac for some peoples sadly they cant use the HERA software.

The Bad Points: 

• Keys can be stiff to remove view the remover
• Keys can be quite small for chubby fingers. 
• Might be hard to purchase in the UK 
• Be careful with FN+ F11
• The @ key is shown as Shift + 2 as per US Layout but the keyboard will act like " when that key is pressed if Windows is in UK language

HB092C Multi-Function Keyboard with Touchpad

Well this review wasn't a suprise but also it was a realization of what i Should of got for my ONDA v820w, since as much as the Rii K02 is nice, typing on it wasn't as decent as I thought it would be along with the fact that this one feels more like the docks for the various 2 in one tablets i've read, heard and seen so much about.

Now sadly I felt like utter shit with a cold while typing this review up since I might of overdid it with a recent night out and then a late home visit after work on Monday night so i was really not feeling too good for it. I was going to buy the version made by 1ByOne but i didn't really want to pay extra for delivery so i bought this from eBay instead on Monday night and then it arrived on the Wednesday which was nice :). I paid £12.85 inc P&P (Royal Mail 24 Hour non tracked) & inc VAT.

As i was playing Pacman and the Ghostly Adventures (Yes i bought that from steam last year but never played it until a few days ago and used GameDVR which worked on 10 using a SCP DS3's Driver), I had to hoover up and then i saw it arrived in my letterbox so i was smiley after the chore.

Now this time it was a very slim box as well as the colour scheme was clear and the details were concise. Its also cool that the translations are pretty accurate which makes it feel more english. The white and blue was a good colour scheme which although does it give it a knock off feel, it still feels clear. Also it mentions the specification and whats in the box. which is below:

Since the box was flat, the keyboard will defiantly be a slim one. Also since there was a choice of for the white even though the ebay listing said it was black. But it was nicely packaged and so much so that the usb cable looked like it was missing but it was right at the bottom. Also the manual was detailed but simple to follow, it was quite a small sized manual.

Time to type and test

Now after unwrapping the keyboard and plugging it in to the solar charger/power bank and turning it on, I pressed FN + C and after a minute, it appeared and i tried to pair it, i messed up the first time but the 2nd time it paired and it felt like a normal laptop with the typing and the touchpad and it was much easier to get this blogpost typed up with the tablet and it looked more professional to a budget degree as well. But I'll be honest and say the touchpad can go a bit skitz sometimes because of the connection and maybe the gestures can confuse you as well, it does with my laptop so i could turn them off which is more convenient, but you can't with this one which is a shame. 

Typing felt more fluent than the Rii and a little less fluent than a real usb keyboard, sure there was once that the right shift was nearly sticking but that was easily solved and it wasn't, it could happen at any time. But when you put both together, it looks nice and similar to a 2 in 1 device.

Well it was a quick review but i think its time to get the ratings sorted:

The good points:

• Fast delivery
• Very slim but a nice wide size (netbook size)
• Very easy to charge
• Bluetooth which will work Windows and Android 

The bad points:

• Some keys might stick
• The touchpad has those windows gestures which make it confusing for me
• There can be some delay, it might be temperamental if you need it the most

Well this is a mini review done and since Goose Fair is coming up there might be some Tat i get to review since i get Thursdays off and that should give me some time to review as well as edit and i should be able to feel better by then.
